Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026
Cleera Technology Inc. ("Cleera", "we", "us") is a technology and coordination platform. We are not a law firm, mortgage brokerage, or insurance provider. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our platform.

1. Who We Are

Cleera Technology Inc. is a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada. We operate an AI-powered platform that coordinates licensed real estate professionals — lawyers, mortgage brokers, and insurance brokers — to support the closing of residential real estate transactions. Cleera does not provide legal advice, mortgage advice, or insurance advice, and does not hold any professional licence in those fields.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you register, use our platform, or communicate with us:

  • Identity information: Name, email address, phone number, and role (buyer, seller, realtor, or licensed professional).
  • Transaction information: Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS), property address, purchase price, closing date, and related documents you upload to the platform.
  • Application data: Mortgage application information you voluntarily submit through the platform (income, employment, down payment). This is used solely to route your file to a licensed mortgage broker.
  • Communications: Messages exchanged through the platform with Claire and licensed professionals.
  • Usage data: Log data, device type, browser, and pages visited within the platform, collected automatically.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate the platform and coordinate your closing professionals;
  • Route your transaction documents to the licensed lawyers, mortgage brokers, and insurance brokers in our network;
  • Send you transaction status updates and communications through Claire;
  • Maintain records required for platform operation and audit purposes;
  • Improve our platform and AI services.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your transaction data to train AI models unless you have explicitly opted in.

4. Sharing With Licensed Professionals

By using the platform, you authorize Cleera to share your transaction information — including your APS, mortgage application data, and contact details — with the licensed lawyer, mortgage broker, and licensed insurance provider assigned to your file. Each of these professionals is independently licensed and governed by their own professional obligations and privacy requirements. Cleera does not act as an insurance broker — insurance coverage is arranged by a licensed insurance provider in our network.

We do not share your personal information with any professional outside your active transaction file.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored on Supabase-hosted infrastructure within Canada or the United States. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), role-based access controls, and row-level security. Uploaded documents are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket and are never publicly accessible.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of seven years to comply with Canadian real estate and tax record-keeping standards. You may request deletion of your account information at any time by contacting us; we will comply to the extent permitted by our legal obligations.

7. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Withdraw consent for certain uses of your information (subject to legal obligations);
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@closedbycleera.com.

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use essential cookies to maintain your session on the platform. We may use anonymised analytics to understand how visitors use our marketing website. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
